Every year Long Beach hosts one of (if not the) the largest reggae festivals in the country and every year I attend. Last year Walt left a comment on my show wrap-up that sounded like he wished he was there. In the process of sending emails to him and Orlando about this year's upcoming festival on Feb 16th and 17th, it occurred to me that this was an opportunity for a Vinemeet. And when we left the mountains last year, Walt, Orlando and I vowed not to let an entire year pass before we saw each other again.
So here's the deal, if you're going to be in the area (or don't mind making the trip for some good music, fun and connecting with some of your Newsvine friends), I'm inviting you to come along. The more the merrier. We could rent a hotel suite and make a weekend of it! I'll at the festival both days, no matter what (I'm covering the event for Listen In).
Who's interested?! Who's up for Vinemeet: Ragga Muffins Festival? Please comment and/or use the contact author feature to email me so I can get an idea of who might want to join in the festivities. Ooooh, I'm excited just thinking about it!
If you do plan to attend, purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended since the show sells out every year. For more information on that visit the Ragga Muffins Festival website here.
Don't forget to let me know if you're interested...
Oh hell it is a shame I can't get there, I love reggae. I have, however, been to Caribana in Toronto, which is amazing:
Caribana is a festival of Caribbean culture and traditions held each summer in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Annually Caribana draws hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the globe to Toronto's lakeshore. Caribana is a Caribbean Carnival-style event, that has been billed as North America's largest street festival, frequented by over 1.3 million visitors each year for the festival's final parade.

Enjoy your time there!
Kymleee - I love our Ragga Muffins fest tradition, nothing like press passes to make the show that much better.
And while I'm never one to get a shout out to police, I must admit LBPD puts up with quite a lot of shenanigens at the festival, and lets a great deal slide.
I do hope the vendors feature something better than those tired goods from years past.
Here's to our legs, Lord knows they're going to be stiff, tired and sore, I wouldn't have it any other way!
I'LL DEFINITLY GO!!! Send me an e-mail with some more details, I have to see Collie Buddz!
Oh crap now I want to go even more, Collie Buddz is great. I have a friend who saw him perform in Bermuda which would have been amazing to see. Cali would be great too, smoking on that Cali bud.
Damn, wish I could...sadly that's sorta the wrong end of the...er...continent. hehe. Sounds like a blast though!
