Community Moderator Introductions: Kymlee

advertisement

Hey fellow 'Viners. I'm one of the new administrators of the community groups (yay!), so introductions are in order. Thanks to everyone who voted for me (I know it's cheesy but appropriate :D).

Who is Kymlee?

My given name is Kimberlee Morrison. In my day job, I'm the associate editor and a staff writer for online publisher Know More Media. I'm also a freelance journalist, a public speaker, poet, thinker…I've been told I'm blunt, but loyal, honest and compassionate. My two loves are writing and music which is why I'm glad I have been able to combine the two by writing about music.

History and Qualifications

My discovery of Newsvine was a by-product of digging around for social networking communities in 2006 and I found a bookmark on Del.icio.ous. Immediately, I liked the look of the site with subtle colors, easy to use features and active community. I started out seeding but have been writing more frequently over the last six months or so.

I may be blunt yes but also diplomatic and honest to a fault. My general philosophy is to try as hard not to offend as others try not to be offended; most of the time it works. This characteristic helps me to be level headed, patient, give people the benefit of the doubt, and unafraid of confrontation.

You can ask me about the basics of site operation, the Newsvine Community group, and about community mores and norms. I know how things run 'round here both technically and interpersonally. There may be some other things not included so if you have a question, feel free to ask. If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does. Just go to my column and send me an email using the contact author feature.
